Wow! I didn’t expect a 2-day-1-night trip to span over 7 days of blog posting but there’s just too much I want to share, like the unblemished simple-styled yet tasty food and the pulchritudinous landscapes of Sungei Lembing, an old tin mining town, that has in recent years become an exciting tourist destination for Malaysians … Continue reading →

Did you noticed that I spelled Sungei with an “e” when it should be Sungai with an “a” ? I guess you can tell if a person’s from Singapore or Malaysia just by its spelling. It should be Sungai Lembing as I found out. In bahasa Melayu (Malay language), sungai means river and lembing means … Continue reading →

When I was cursing complaining of my ill fate of having to climb in Mt. Bromo, my friends who had visited Panorama Hill warned of my impending trip to Sungei Lembing. The steps are 3 times more than Mt. Bromo even though the latter is higher and if you think Mt. Bromo is tough wait till … Continue reading →

After lunch, we journeyed on to Gua Charas, a limestone cave formed millions of years ago. The cave is taken care of by some Indian devotees who maintain the peaceful sojourn from donations of visiting locals and tourists, like us. Entrance fee or rather donations of MYR2 is clearly written on the box where donations … Continue reading →

We continued our journey to Sungei Lembing and Michael, our tour leader who is also a master street photographer, informed that lunch and toilet break would be in another 2 hours or thereabout when we arrived in Pahang. The chicken was crispy outside and yet quite tender. The rice was fluffy but not as fragrant … Continue reading →

A week passed and it was time to go on Sungei Lembing trip (31st Jan 2015) in Pahang, Malaysia. Knowing that Benny wasn’t too athletic, I didn’t expect climbing mountain to be part of the itinerary when I signed up for this trip a few months ago. Thus, before I could take a breather from my … Continue reading →
